Griffith's exploration into found beauty led him on a quest to collect blown tires across America. Collecting hundreds of treads, shipped to his studio, Griffith photographed each tire against his signature white background. The emptiness of the background enhances the organic nature of the object, further removing it from its original context and creating a new structure and form.
